Christmas is my favorite time of year and I just love celebrating it with the kids. Drew was so excited about decorating the house for the holidays that we put up our tree a little early this year. It was so much fun going through all of our ornaments and talking about where we got each of them. Andy and I were married around Christmas time and I received a lot of really special ornaments at my bridal shower that always bring a smile to my face when I put them up each year. It has also become a tradition to buy the kids a special ornament each year. This year Drew picked out a dinosaur and Katie picked out a princess. One day when Grandmom was visiting us, we went down to the
the Holiday Shops at Bryant Park and she let them each pick out a special ornament. Drew picked out a Statue of Liberty snow globe and Katie picked out a NYC taxi. She loves taxis and can even hail one on her own! Quite a sight to see a one year old raise her hand and say with New York attitude, "Taxi!" We have quite a fun collection of ornaments from friends, family, homemade ornaments and our own special purchases over the years.

Here is a picture of our tree on Christmas morning after Santa came with all of his presents for Drew and Katie.
Note the blue rope on the tree. Drew has been really into making pulleys and other devices when he plays with his trucks, trains and dinosaurs. One day a few months ago, he asked me for some rope or string. I didn't have any but he found our dental floss and realized he could use that for the same purpose. He and Katie have taken all of the dental floss that we had in the apartment and used it to make various contraptions. When my Gram heard this story she went right to the store and bought Drew some proper rope. He was so excited when she gave it to him and we figured he would get right to work. However, when we got home, he put the rope right on our tree as a decoration! Such a funny kid.
